Pay It Forward Assessments:

Where Clarity Meets Compassion

Psychological assessment is often perceived as a way to a diagnosis. Assessment certainly can result in a diagnosis and identify areas for intervention. However, a psychological evaluation can do so much more than that.  It can bring a sense of explanation to someone’s experience. An evaluation can help the person feel understood, to feel seen. It can further one’s understanding of the self. All of this can help to facilitate change, by identifying patterns and underlying causes of behaviors. Psychological evaluation is therapeutic, it just relies on data and numbers.

Although I view psychological assessment as therapeutic, I recognize psychological assessment has a practical purpose. Often, when someone seeks out a psychological assessment, it is to find answers or to gain access to services. The practice offers a variety of psychological assessments, tailoring the individual tests used to the person and the purpose of the evaluation.

Our Services

Psychological Assessment

I see assessment as part of the therapeutic process. I rely on a client-centered, multimodal, neurodivergent affirming approach to evaluation.

Therapy

Although I am trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions, including CBT, I prefer to tailor the treatment to the client. I rely on an integrative, client-centered approach that allows us to work together to identify treatment interventions that fit you.

Forensic Consultation

I conduct a variety of evaluations to assist with legal matters. These range from mental health evaluations to forensic evaluations, such as sentencing mitigation. My evaluations have been used in criminal, juvenile justice, civil, family law, and educational due process proceedings

About Me

I have been independently licensed as a psychologist for 15 years and have two decades of experience conducting psychological assessments. I have published academic papers on assessment, presented research at national and state level conferences, and have written a book on psychological assessment. I also have testified as an expert in courts across Maryland, in DC, and in Virginia. I have a passion for assessment and the clarity it can bring.
